Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American musician and popular actress. As a child Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by American citizens of all races. When she went to school contests and received great praise for her performance when she was in the ninth grade she began to grow more confident. This not only increased confidence in herself, but it also changed her goals for the future. She attended New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. The role in The Lad of The Lake became her most memorable breakthrough, bringing her an award called the Tony Award in addition to the acclaim of critics for her performance. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC her role was given greater appreciation. A well-known performer, she has also released both an album and a musical. She also works as an LGBT activist.
