Andra Day and Andi Matichak

Cassandra Monique Batie also known as Andra is a American R&B soul, soul and singer/songwriter. Apart from a Grammy Award and Golden Globe Award she's also up for nomination as the winner of an Academy Award. Andra Day is an imposing artist and songwriter with a unique voice. She isn't merely a throwback R&B specialist her roots in gospel music and blues performed with ease and finesse are passed on to today's music. Cheers to the fall (2015) her auspicious debut made it into the Top Ten of the R&B/hip-hop and paved the way for some Grammy nominations as well as one Academy Award nomination with Stand Up for Something (2017) her performance on the soundtrack for Marshall earning both distinctions. Amen (2018) Make Your Troubles (2020), and her Golden Globe-winning performance as Billie Holiday, in The United States against Billie Holiday(2021) continue to build anticipation for Day's second full album. Andra was born Cassandra Monique Batie on Edmonds Washington. Growing up within San Diego and surrounding areas, she began performing in the church and was enrolled into the School of Creative and Performing Arts. After leaving the School of Creative and Performing Arts, andra Day began to focus her attention on contemporary R&B and Pop, however she quickly found her jazz-inspired soul influences were what she was most drawn to. Kai Millard Morris, who saw a live show by Day and brought her songs to Stevie Wonder's husband was the main success. Motown legendary Adrian Gurvitz was introduced to Day by the Motown legend. In partnership to Gurvitz as well as Jeffrey Evans' Buskin label Day gained a large popularity on YouTube and later signed to major label Warner Bros. n 2012 Day dropped her first single Forever Mine on YouTube. The song quickly heard in radio stations by a variety of DJs. In the year 2015, following her signing to Warner Bros. Records she began working on her debut record Cheers To The Fall featuring Adrian Gurvitz. It featured the hit song"Rise Up," which was the anthem for social justice movements around the globe. The album won at least two times for the Grammy Awards. This included Best R&B Album. In 2019 she released her second album The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album that tells the story of the legendary jazz singer. The United States against Billie Holiday was released in 2021. This was the year in which she was also featured as Holiday. Andi Mathichak was born in America. She made her television debut in series such as 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods before making her movie debut as Allyson Nelson, in the film horror series Halloween as well as its sequels. Andi Mattichak was born on the 3rd of May, 1994 in Framingham Mass.
